More ‘Anonymous’ hackers arrested as LulzSec takes requests
June 15, 2011
Turkish police have arrested 32 people believed to be members of hacker collective Anonymous. The group has been active in Turkey protesting against government plans to set up a national net filtering system. On 22 August, Turkey is planning to turn on a system that demands people sign up for one of four filtering packages designed for different types of users. Supposedly to protect minors, protesters say it will be used to monitor activity.
The arrests follow the detention of three hackers by police in Spain.
Meanwhile the hacker group Lulz Security, which targeted Sony, has opened a telephone request line so its fans can suggest potential targets. The group publicised the telephone hotline on its Twitter feed.
