FSR eSports event on Recast
March 30, 2021
Fans of the Formula Sim Racing (FSR) eSports event will be able to watch all the action in the 2021 season live on sports video platform Recast.
Recast has joined forces with digital motorsports channel The Race to bring all 12 rounds of the 2021 Formula Sim season direct to fans in apartnership that sees eSports shown on the platform for the first time.
FSR, in which drivers compete on some of the world’s most famous circuits in hyper realistic racing simulators, is one of the fastest growing forms of motorsport, with 10-time Grand Prix winning Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen recently saying he believes we may one day see a sim racer eventually become F1 World Champion*.
Recast’s monetisation model will allow fans to watch for free, and everyone who signed up to Recast will receive 100 free Cast Credits which can be used to watch each race.
Andy Meikle, founder and CEO at Recast, said: “The arrival of eSports on Recast is yet another first, and we are delighted to have The Race on board to help us deliver it. The skill, excitement and entertainment in FSR is huge, and we are delighted to bring it directly to a growing audience through Recast, and in a way which will help grow the sport by monetising content effectively.”
Andrew van de Burgt, COO and Founder of The Race Media Ltd, added: “We are always on the lookout for new revenue streams, and this partnership with Recast enables us to make the most of our best asset – our content. At The Race, we are always out to push the boundaries of what is possible, and this is the next step on that road that enables us to help grow the sport and its following by taking content direct-to-consumer, and also making more revenue that can help develop the sport itself, particularly in a way that resonates with the eSports demographic and audience. We are delighted to be working with Recast this season, and can’t wait to reap the benefits.”
