La 10, latest victim in Spanish DTT

The advertising crisis, along with the saturation of TV channels, has claimed another victim in Spanish DTT. Vocento-controlled channel La 10 is to shutdown and lease its licence to another media group, possibly a foreign company, whose identity is still unknown.
The channel has dismissed 14 workers and closed down its in-house production and will be broadcasting films and TV series until it reaches an agreement with the new entrant. This comes soon after Veo 7, managed by Unidad Editorial, closed down the channel and leased the licence to Discovery Networks that will distribute a FTA channel from January.
Like Veo TV, La 10 suffered from a low percentage of television viewers, accounting for an audience share of 0.6 per cent in August. La 10 is one of the four DTT licences owned by Vocento, all of them leased to other groups like MTV, Disney Channel and Intereconomia. This latter channel has even asked its viewers to donate money to finance the channel.
