March 11, 2024
Pixellot, the AI-driven sports video technology player, has announced strategic partnerships with two key organisations in German basketball: the Baden-Württemberg Basketball Association (BBW) and the Westdeutscher Basketball Association (Basketball WBV).
Both BBW and WBV are leading organisations in promoting and developing basketball at all levels in their respective regions overseeing more than 600 clubs. The partnerships will see Pixellot’s newest AI-driven cameras used in multiple venues, offering unparalleled coverage of selection teams for tournaments, competitions and youth development. This technology not only streamlines the production process but also enhances the viewing experience with features like automated highlights and personal clips. This enhanced visibility and engagement plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining sponsors, such as Spalding, Molten, Puma, basketballdirekt, and Athletic Sport Sponsoring.
Both associations are deeply involved in community engagement, leveraging basketball as a tool for social development and inclusion. Their commitment to promoting girls’ basketball and ensuring equal opportunities for participation and success is an integral part of their commitment to fostering talent, promoting sportsmanship, and enhancing the basketball community’s growth. The use of Pixellot’s systems will enable coaches to use the professional-level analytics to improve team and player performance. In addition, the federations will use the system to refine certification and improve the quality of refereeing.
Basketball WBV, with over 400 clubs and a combined membership exceeding 50,000, of which 32,000 are youth players, is experiencing a 20 per cent growth rate annually, putting it at the forefront of promoting youth and women’s basketball.
“Joining forces with Pixellot allows us to shine a spotlight on youth and women’s basketball like never before,” said Nadeesh Kattur VP of Youth and Youth Competitive Sports WBV. “We’re excited to leverage this technology to not only improve our coaching and development programs but also to enhance our visibility and attract more support and followers. We encourage all our clubs to take advantage of Pixellot’s technology and adopt it”.
The BBW coordinates the activities of approximately 32,000 basketball players in 2,100 teams up to the regional league and represents 220 clubs’ interests at the national and state levels.
“Pixellot’s technology will revolutionise how we engage with our community, offering unprecedented access to live and recorded matches” said Thomas Adelt, Competitive Sports coordinator, and All State Men’s Coach BW. “This partnership is a game-changer for our clubs, youth players, and the entire basketball community in Baden-Württemberg including our referees. We’re happy that all our clubs will be able to afford employing this technology and hope more clubs will adopt it throughout Germany.”
“Germany’s passion for basketball, especially after winning the world championship last year, is both inspiring and impressive,” said Alon Werber, CEO of Pixellot. “Our partnerships with Basketball BW and Basketball WBV are a testament to our continuing commitment to providing innovative solutions that not only enhance the sports experience for all players and fans, but also support the development of basketball across the country.”
By integrating Pixellot’s AI-driven solutions, Basketball BW and Basketball WBV are setting new standards for sports innovation, youth development and community engagement in Germany. These partnerships underscore Pixellot’s role in transforming youth basketball coverage by making it affordable and more accessible and engaging for federations and leagues at all levels.
