OneGate Media acquires distribution rights for Dangerous Truth

OneGate Media has announces a new partnership with Bravado Equity for the global distribution of the political thriller series Dangerous Truth (Das zweite Attentat). The collaboration will see OneGate Media manage the international distribution of the six-part drama series, with Bravado Equity handling the financing.
Inspired by true events that took place in the lead up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Dangerous Truth (6×45’) centres around 35-year-old Alexander Jaromin, who for 20 years has been living with his mother in Athens under assumed identities in the witness protection program of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA). Alexander’s father and sister were killed in a terrorist attack in 2003, and his memories of them are overshadowed by unanswered questions.
Tormented by the unknown, the series follows Alexander to Berlin, on his desperate search to uncover the truth behind his father’s death. Alexander finds himself under the close watch of the Federal Intelligence Service, and his life in danger as he ends up in a race against time in which he must do whatever it takes to uncover the truth. With a blend of high-stakes suspense and intricate plot twists, this unique series details a relentless pursuit of truth, and the courage it takes to go against the world’s political powers.
Dangerous Truth features a stellar cast including Desirée Nosbusch (Bad Banks, Sisi), Jakob Diehl (All Quiet on the Western Front, The Forgotten Battle), Noah Saavedra (Spectre, Why Not You), Daniel Lommatzsch (Am Ende ist man tot, Tatort), and Deleila Piasko (Agent Hamilton, A Stasi Comedy). The political thriller, which was filmed across Greece, Germany and Luxembourg, is directed by award-winning Barbara Eder (The Swarm).
The series is a coproduction between EIKON Media, WDR and ARD Degeto Film along with Deal Productions (Stargazer, Tamara) in Luxembourg for ARD.
Barbara Eder was supported in her work by Hamburg director Philipp Osthus (Der Beschützer). The scripts were written by the multiple award-winning novelist Oliver Bottini and the writers Julia Neumann, Benjamin Karalic, Ulf Tschauder, and Christoph Darnstädt. Producer for EIKON Media is Mario Krebs, co-producers for Deal Productions are Alexandra Hoesdorff and Désirée Nosbusch. Producers include Ole Landsjöaasen and Heike Stephan. Editorial responsibility for the series is held by Elke Kimmlinger (WDR) and Christoph Pellander at ARD Degeto Film, supported by Film Foundation NRW, German Motion Picture Fund, Film Fund Luxembourg, and the Greek EKOME.
