Tubi push as Fox mulls future?
February 13, 2023
Tubi, Fox’s ad-supported US streamer, was among the TV brands given a big push during the coveted Super Bowl commercial breaks with two brand spots. The ads featured giant rabbits throwing viewers down a rabbit hole, implying the variety of content available on Tubi.
Tubi CMO, Nicole Parlapiano, commented: “While much of the streaming world still revolves around an obsession with the latest movie or series, we are on a mission to give all people access to all the world’s stories. That means having a deep and diverse library that allows people to dive into their own personal content journey where they can discover anything from Hollywood blockbusters and classics to subgenres and subcultures that just might lead them down the perfect rabbit hole for them.”
Fox bought Tubi in 2020 for $440 million and on Fox’s fiscal Q2 earnings call on February 8th, Murdoch said Tubi ad revenues has grown 25 per cent. Bloomberg reported a couple of days later that Lachlan Murdoch, CEO of Fox, had turned down a $2 billion offer for Tubi.
Tubi reportedly currently has around 61 million monthly users.
