Disney Star continued partnership with AE Live for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup
July 9, 2024
Disney Star, the sports broadcasting network in India and the official Production Services partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, successfully delivered a world-class viewing experience for its almost 2 billion fans around the globe with its long-term partner, AE Live.
AE Live, the world-leading global provider of data and broadcast solutions, was chosen to produce customised feeds (in 11 different formats) for Star’s coverage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Along with producing the graphics in four regional languages, AE Live provided software support for Disney+Hotstar’s shows around the games (integrating with their Viz Content Pilot) and has built the style, all in-house, using their Indian design team.
Disney Star has utilised AE Live’s expertise in broadcast graphics for over 10 years, having worked on Star’s marquee productions including ICC events, IPL, Asia Cup, Pro Kabaddi League (and Indian Super League, BCCI International Cricket, Pro Badminton League where Star has had the rights for these events).
“We are delighted to have continued our long-standing partnership with Disney Star, by partnering with them on the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, said Sudeep Saha, AE Live’s Director of Business Operations – Asia. “Cricket is hugely popular in India, and it is no surprise that Disney Star went all in for their viewers, producing exciting and engaging coverage.”
This has been one of AE Live’s biggest and most challenging undertakings with the Indian broadcaster. AE Live’s 18 operators worked, day and night, in split shifts, to handle matches in different time zones and different dayparts, to deliver the best fan experience for Disney Star’s audience.
Globally recognised as one of the principal providers of specialist graphics and data services for some of the world’s leading governing bodies, broadcasters and production companies, AE Live has worked on all nine of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cups, providing core world feed graphics as well as presentation graphics for various rights holders.
